PlAy GrOuP is coming soon.....

Alright, last week was one of the worst in my existence of being a mom. Everett got sick Wednesday with the dreaded croup! Yucky! He has never been sick and he got hit with a vengeance. Everyone I talked to said there is nothing the doctors can do for the cold just for their breathing. Well, Everett was breathing okay he was just miserable with runny nose and coughing. We thought for sure by Sunday if he is not improving then we are going to the doctor. Sunday came, our poor little man had seriously not slept since Tuesday night(which was an incredible 13 hrs.) It is so hard not seeing your child act like themselves and just want to be held constantly. Monday we went to the doctor and while we were there he broke out in hives! Yikes. Doctor came in and discovered Everett had two massive ear infections and that's why he was having fevers and then breaking out in hives. So, long story I know, but it is Wednesday and finally I am seeing an improvement and my little man back. So beware moms croup is flying around and Everett is a really tough kid so watch out.

Given the above story I am holding off on Play Group for the moment until Everett fully recovers. I don't want your child to get sick and I don't want Everett to relapse. So I'll keep you posted! We are bummed because we really need some friends to hand out with in the day. Hopefully soon!

Wow you made it the whole first year with out him getting sick! You really deserve a trophy or gold medal or something. You know what write a book on how you did it. My kids are always! ALWAYS sick. Croup is the nasty! It sounds way worse than it actually is. I am glad he is doing better. Ear infections also stink. YOu are hearing from the queen of ear infections all three kids have tubes in their ears thanks to those lovely infections. So I am sorry you have to go through it. But am again glad he is doing better.

I remember still, clearly Burk's first ear-infection. He was 7 months old and it was Christmas Eve. He was up every 2 hours or so and nothing would help him but to cry himself tired to sleep. He ended up having two more after that; one after the other. But, then & since hasn't had one again. Croup is scary I think. Burk has had that too. Albutueral really helped because Burk wasn't breathing well at night. It's liquid med that opens there lungs. It scary when they get so sick. Sorry bout it. Good luck sounds like he's strong and on the mend.

Take Care!
