The Job

Wow. We are trying to get settled into our new home in Sandy. Life has been pretty crazy for the past few months and this past week has been very busy. I will write more on that later, for right now I am going to answer the many questions I get about Jack's job.

Let's back up. We have been looking for a job for 2 1/2 yrs. We have had jobs during that time but they were minimum wage paying jobs (commission based) which everyone working off commission know how hard this is in this economy. We had to short sell our house and Jack took a job working at Convergys in Logan. We lived with my parents until we could get back on our feet. I was interviewing for a full-time position as a dental assistant prepared to have my parents raise my children for as long as it took for us to move forward into a career. We were seriously planning on at least 8 months and then hopefully we could afford to get into a little apartment and then see from there. Well. Jack gets a phone call one day from his best friends uncle (who Jack knows) and he said that he had a job open up and was wondering if Jack wanted to apply for it. Jack told me about it and I laughed and then said "Why not? We have nothing to lose? I am not getting my hopes up, so go ahead." I don't know if you understand. Jack has had job rejection after rejection. I am not talking one or two, I am talking everyday for 2 1/2 yrs. Well, he goes through the process of interviewing and then it came down to the day of decision. This job was going to be life changing if we got it. Jack got the call and he was told to check his email because there was a job offer in there. I am still in shock, I can't believe how quickly things can turn around. The funny thing is that this job has nothing to do with his degree which is another reason that it was a miracle and huge answer to a prayer and a big testament to me that Heavenly Father knows exactly what he is doing.

Jack's Job: Jack works for a company called LALA USA . They are a company that owns Dairy Plants all over the Unites States. There major client is Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. He is an Account Manager for the plants in the Eastern United States. He is the liaison between the plant and Wal-Mart. He travels a lot and stays pretty busy. He has never done anything related to this field but he is loving it and we are so grateful to be on a career path. I am so proud of this man of mine. Not for getting this great job, but through all of this craziness we have been through he has never given up and keeps on going even if he has to work at Convergys on the way. I am proud of what he has accomplished and for the opportunities that he takes to grow and learn. He is wonderful in every sense of the word.

Thank you Jack.

NICE! Congrats dude! I can only imagine how humbling and tough it is to be on the job hunt with a growing family when the market for jobs has been so bad. Hope it goes great.
