Let me explain the blog title. I was laying in bed last night and it popped into my head as the title for my next post, I really don't know why. I don't have any amazing 'Flipping the Switch' moments. So, here is to my 'Flipping the Switch' post, I will try and tie everything together.
Jack left Monday for AR-KanSas. I took the opportunity to visit my parents. My children had a wonderful time with Grandma and Grandpa Passey and I had a great time shopping with my little sister and catching up with my other little sis. I was also able to slip over and see Sharli with her adorable new baby (remember how she spent the night at my house on her due date? love her to pieces). Most beautiful baby ever, but I really didn't expect anything less. I love babies. All and all it was a good trip.
I came home Tuesday evening laid the kids down. While the boys slept I crept into Harry's room and stole 'Bobby' (his precious blanky) I then took it out to the garbage and threw it away (I have been wanting to do this for awhile, I feel like it's been keeping him a baby). Let me fill you in. He had to have "Bobby" (which was my old baby blanket) at all times. Bed, Car, Playing, Store....Everywhere!!! As nice as it was to have him just sit and suck his finger and be content, it really was time. He awoke at 5 am crying and looking for it.....I am a sucker. At 5 am I dug through the dumpster (well not really it was on top) and gave it to him. What we do for 3 more hours of sleep right? On Wednesday I managed to grab it again and it went deeper into the trash and has not resurfaced since....Nor will it. He has been doing pretty good he'll ask me "Bobby?" I respond with "No more Bobby, I threw it away becuase you are a big boy" too harsh? It really was not as bad as I thought it would be. My dad hurt his back and in doing so has to take a pillow everywhere he goes. He informed me that he named his pillow "Robert" and his big body pillow (that he has to sleep with) he named "Roberta" after our dear Harry. Well dad Harry no longer has his "Bobby" hopefully this will help you get rid of "Robert" and "Roberta the Mistress". :) I guess I flipped on my 'Take over Switch' and followed through with something I have been avoiding. Yay me!
Wednesday night I promised the boys that the next day I would take them to the park with Ice Cream! (This was my incentive for them to go to bed, which didn't happen until 9:30). Thursday morning we all got ready and then we realized that it was freezing outside and not even close to being a park day. But a promise is a promise.
We didn't last long due to Everett needing to use the bathroom that couldn't be done on a tree :) bummer. We returned later that day and it was actually pretty nice. Sometimes we have to flip on the 'What the Heck Switch' and I find when I do I am glad that I did.
Jack was due to return home late. After the kids went down I threw on my work-out clothes and cranked out some killer Abs while watching 'American Idol'. I have never been into that show but I am a total follower this year, love Jennifer, Love Steven, and I actually like Randy too. The Mr. walked in around 9:15 from an exhausting 4 day trip with a surprise for me. I love him.
Jack doesn't buy flowers on the 'typical occasions', I love it! It's always a complete surprise. So relieved to have him home. Flipped off the switch and hit a much needed deep sleep. :)
